My entrepreneurial journey started almost 22 years ago in October, 2001.

After 15 months of devastating unemployment and my first encounter with cancer, I was not in a good place.

After some prayer seeking direction for my life, I decided the only direction to go was up, so I started a small business.

I created Dynamic Communication and began offering print and mail newsletters for local businesses, Chambers of Commerce, Non-Profits, and Associations.

Despite my great enthusiasm for being an entrepreneur and finally in control of my own destiny, it took me a full year to get my first customer!

Thankfully, I persevered and grew Dynamic Communication to a multiple six figure business.

In 2006, I began learning about internet marketing, direct response copy writing, and the power of leverage, from mentors like Dan Kennedy and Lee Milteer.

In 2007 I created my first internet business called No Hassle Newsletters, which offers “Done-for-You” newsletter templates and content for a monthly membership fee.

Over the last 15 years we’ve been blessed to serve over 1200 small business owners in nine countries with our No Hassle Newsletter program… but that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Following No Hassle Newsletters, I created additional internet businesses including No Hassle Social Media, No Hassle Marketing (with a partner), Custom Article Generator, Concierge Print and Mail on Demand, and Success Advantage Publishing.

I wrote my first book, The Magic of Newsletter Marketing, in 2009 and followed that with six more books based on my Dream Business Building Strategies.

As an author, one of my proudest moments was having Kevin Harrington, one of the original sharks from Shark Tank write the forward to my fifth book, Stop Waiting For it to Get Easier.

In 2009, I also created the Dream Business Mastermind and Coaching Program, which is my main business today.

In 2012 I created Dream Business Academy, a 3-day live seminar where I taught entrepreneurs and small business owners how to market and grow their Dream Business.

Before the Pandemic, we ran 8 successful Dream Business Academies around the country.

In 2017 Stephanie and I sold our home of 29 years and moved aboard our boat, Floating Home, for a one-year big adventure.

We traded practical and predicable for adventurous and exciting.

There are a few anniversaries that have deep and important meaning, such as our wedding and hearing my doctor say, “Jim, you are cancer free.”

However, every year at this time I pause and reflect on this crazy journey of going from a steady paycheck, vacation, and paid health insurance, to being 100% responsible for my own income.

As an entrepreneur, when you realize that the success you achieve, or don’t achieve, is 100% your responsibility, you learn to get over whatever fears and phobias you may have really quick and step up your game.

You cannot generate extraordinary success with average performance.
