There was a time in my entrepreneurial journey, where I was attending several live events a year.
I told myself the high level of business activity was good.
I also told myself that I was searching for just “one more thing” – some new and highly-effective strategy that would prove to be the turning point in the growth of my business.
And then one day, I was sitting in the back of a large conference room pondering my travel schedule, and I had a major “head slap” revelation about my business.
The little voice in my head said,
“Jim, it’s not ‘what you don’t know’ that is holding you back, it’s ‘what you are not doing’ in your business that is holding your back.”
From that moment on I became a serious “massive action” entrepreneur.
I started implementing various marketing and growth strategies on many fronts – simultaneously – and not the usual “slow and steady as she goes” sequential way of doing things.
My mentor, Dan Kennedy, says that “success leaves a messy kitchen.”
I agree, and I became okay with causing a mess (occasional mistake) as I accelerated the growth of my business.
In addition, and this is BIG … when it came to my mentors, I stopped questioning “if this would work for me the same way it has for them.”
I started doing what my mentors were telling me to do, without feeling the need to “rewrite the code” just so I could make it my own and satisfy my ego.
This all proved to be a major turning point for my business.
Over the next few years, we experienced dramatic growth and became debt-free.
This revelation made it possible to live my Dream Lifestyle.
If you’re an entrepreneur or small business owner in constant busy mode, or chasing some “powerful new strategy” that will prove to be the game changer you seek, may I suggest another route?
