Decide to Survive, Decide to Decide
Have no illusions, building your Dream Business takes a lot of work, and it requires a level of intensity, commitment, and perseverance that simply put, most do not possess.
Half of all small businesses started will fail in the first few years, and 80 percent will fail by year five.
Money is often cited as the main issue for business failure, but I believe most likely run out of money because they ran out of guts and courage to make the tough choices necessary to keep going.
But take heart, because there are proven concepts that can transform you from the inside out and help you GROW your business instead of succumbing to statistical reality.
One of those is a principle that I learned many years ago that I use daily in my own journey:
“The quality of your choices shapes the quality of your results.”
Case in point: Your choice to consume the insights I’m offering you today.
If you to choose to act on these principles, they will help you achieve success faster and the results will be greater profits and a better quality of life.
Let’s take a look at 13 quotes that will grow your business today!
“Confidence comes from success, and success comes from moving forward. And moving forward faster comes from the ability (and confidence) to make fast decisions and implement them.”
You see, highly successful entrepreneurs have an uncanny ability to see opportunity, assess a situation, quickly and deliberately consider the pros and cons, and then DECIDE and move on.
They make a decision and act – one way or the other, and they build greater momentum moving their businesses forward.
“You deserve all of the success you can create for yourself. Period. Amen.”
The bottom line is this: If you solve problems and provide incredible value to your customers, backed up with great service, and your customers, clients, or patients appreciate how you make their lives better, by all means you deserve to be handsomely rewarded.
That is the very essence of business, so don’t let negative mindsets like feeling undeserving of your success prevent you from performing at a higher level.
To help this sink in, I made a short video which you can access by following this link when you are done this article!
“Fear is part of the human existence. Learn to get rid of it when it pops up. You may need to take some big steps and make some tough choices to do so. Just do it… or accept slow-to-no growth.”
In essence, don’t let negative, self-limiting thoughts paralyze you.
Everyone has fears, but what separates most entrepreneurs from highly successful entrepreneurs is their ability to DECIDE to push through and step out into a space and place that may be uncomfortable.
“If you want to get somewhere faster, ask someone who has made the journey before you for the best route!”
I’m not at all a fan of reinventing the wheel, and my ego is such that I don’t care who gets the credit for the idea or roadmap as long as I get where I want to go faster.
There are many places in your business where investing comes into play, but no area is more important than in coaching or masterminding.
I wouldn’t be where I am today without the support of my community of mentors and coaches.
“Delegate or stay small forever”
If you feel like things aren’t getting done and your progress and speed are not what they should be, you should be delegating!
If you are trying to do it all because you don’t want to pay someone else to do something you can do, then YOU are the bottleneck to growing your Dream Business.
Learn to leverage other people’s time, skills and talent so you can focus on what you do best.
“There’s no hiding who you are. Nor should you want to. By being authentic, you’ll attract those people with whom you are best suited to work.”
This means you will also repel more of the people you are not ideally suited to work with, and that’s ok because those are the people who would be a poor fit for your business and success.
You’re not meant to please or work with everyone, and life is too short to even try to play that game.
“Wealth rewards risk, and wealth rewards speed.”
It’s important to shift your thinking from wanting to simply create “more sales,” and instead move to wanting to create more wealth.
Income or revenue is the measure of your compensation and wealth is the sum of the value of your assets.
Keep this in mind, wealth brings you freedom.
I devoted a chapter of my most recent book, Decide on creating wealth instead of simply generating more sales, which you can access here.
Remember this: Entrepreneurs who get stuff done fast are much likelier to grow their business and achieve higher wealth.
“Good is good enough.”
This great expression actually comes our way from marketing legend Dan Kennedy.
I’ve come to understand and totally appreciate this expression – and business philosophy – because it relieves overwhelm, and it also greatly accelerates your growth.
I am not suggesting you do substandard work. To the contrary: Do your best work and then pull the trigger and makes corrections and edits as you move forward – making money!
“If you want to be successful and really grow your business and boost your profits, you simply cannot need the approval from others about how you operate your business.”
Very simply, the only folks you need to please are your paying customers, and what they have to say is really the only thing you should be listening to in the first place.
Use a two-step filter when you hear criticism. First, ask yourself if the critic is an expert about which she is opining.
Then ask yourself if her opinion really matters to you.
If either answer is “no,” be immune to the criticism.
“Gross is for Vanity – Net is for Sanity.”
Gross is what people most often brag about, but net is what pays the bills, allows you to reinvest in your business, put away for retirement, bonus your team, give back to others, etc.
“Profit is not a four-letter word.”
Never think of profit as a dirty word. The truth is, every business, no matter what size it may be, needs to turn a profit in order to stay in business.
As long as you play by the rules, don’t cheat, operate your business with integrity, and pay your taxes, then by all means step up to the plate, launch your business, and solve other people’s problems and cure their pain… and work to create a nice tidy profit for yourself.
There’s nothing wrong with that.
“If you desire success, you are better off creating it for yourself than relying on anybody else.”
No matter what you may be pursuing in your life, if you wait for it to get easier, you are going to wait forever.
If you wait for it to get easier, you are never going to accomplish your goals.
If you wait for it to get easier, time will pass you by, and years from now you’ll probably be in exactly the spot you are now.
So stop waiting for it to get easier! It’s not going to.
