I love your videos and podcasts and agree with you on most things. But this one I had to comment on. I originally listened to this podcast and video when it was posted, then listened to the podcast again on a recent plane trip.

As a business person – and a human being – not only do you need to keep going for the “gold” you also need to know when to give up and move on! Ask me how I know this! The gold may be out there, but, you might not be the one to get it!

Personally, I am one who keeps thinking that the gold really is only 3 feet away and will keep digging for it – usually with my finger nails. But, as I have learned the hard way, at some point, you may have to stop digging.

I hung on to my 32 year marriage way too long before I divorced my husband. I started an event planning businesses that depended on a people traveling to my site, then the recession hit. I kept on with the business until I had to close it down and file bankruptcy. I had health issues – arthritis – which I postponed getting treatment for until I wound up having both hips replaced last year.

My life is finally getting back on track. I do have another business (which was not affected by my bankruptcy) which supports me and, now with healthy hips, I am back to traveling and building my other business.

I will never know how my life would be if I had divorced my husband earlier, closed down the (failing) business sooner, or had my hips fixed when they were first diagnosed. All I can do is keep moving forward. Maybe some day I will “find the gold” but I truly am enjoying the journey and I’m grateful for each day.

    Thanks for all you do,
    Cindy Roth
