How to do podcast marketing? A podcast is an informative session in which you provide your clients with information through spoken word. This means that your clients can listen in live or download the same for use later on. Podcast marketing and getting people to listen to your podcast especially when you are starting out can be a really difficult task. It is a process that involves you culturing your pool of clients to understand the information that you are offering and enjoy tuning in to get more.

How to structure your podcast

Once you have determined that you would like to do your podcasts, there are a few things that you will need to consider. To start with, you will be required to choose the structure that your podcast marketing will have. Some people prefer having a monologue of sorts on their podcast. This is fashioned so that they are the expert authorities from whom the clients can drink up information on the topic at hand.

In my experience, an interview session on a podcast often attracts much more interest than a solo session. I may bog it down to human behavior and likes; however it does seem that people prefer listening to a conversation more than a person talking all by himself. As such, you may want to consider calling experts in certain fields to your show so that you can talk to them and have a conversation on certain topics. This kind of two way engagement creates a rapport with the audience. Some people may even request for live calls during the show to allow the audience to participate in the process of creating the podcast.

Doing the podcast marketing yourself tends to be exhaustive since you will be required to prepare and then talk for the duration of the podcast. At the end of it all, you come off more tired physically and mentally than you would rather be. However, if there are two of you, then you can rest up and rely on the guest too help you get through the whole process.

Frequency of the podcast

When you determine that you will be putting out podcasts, then you will need to decide how often you will be putting out the podcasts. The frequency has to be regular and consistent. Usually, since these podcast are discussions that you then post to your website or YouTube or online on your blog, then you can post them out daily or weekly. What you need to be more concerned about is the time that you post and after how long. You should always look for ways to add value to your podcast session. One of the ways of adding value to your podcasts is by ensuring that it is interactive and creative. You need to keep the information being shared fresh and important to your course so that all those keenly listening can always look forward to the next session. You may also do this by keeping the same time every day or week you post the podcast.
