  • Jonathan has been in the entrepreneur space for 12 years, and prior to that, he was an electrician.
  • He also worked in real estate, where he made and lost $1M in the first year.
  • After the real estate loss, he rebuilt his business to work smarter and to proactively build a solid foundation.
  • Jonathan has rental properties, and at this point doesn’t even work 4 hours a week on them, as he has teams, systems, and processes.

 

Business Relationships

  • Every successful business is built on powerful relationships.
  • Powerful relationships can’t be created overnight. This is often the piece that people miss when they think about accelerating the growth of their business.

 

Direct Response Marketing

  • This has a very scientific nature to it and is almost seen as ‘marketing by the numbers.’
  • Direct response has a predictable nature.

 

Podcasting

  • Jonathan has built a podcast network where he co-hosts 5 shows.
  • Podcasting is a long-term play, and many people who start end up ‘podfading.’
  • Every successful business is built on powerful relationships.

 

The Podcast Factory

  • Jonathan has been podcasting since 2008 and did more than 70 shows, but didn’t make any money at the time.
  • In 2013, he got serious and started the Making Agents Rich show, which aired around 200 episodes.
  • Jonathan co-hosts shows with people who have personally mentored him.
  • The Podcast Factory produces all the shows Jonathan works on, but has more capacity, so he is able to white label it and do production for others.
  • The business helps people launch and get ahead.

 

The Power of Anointing Yourself

  • Take a position and make yourself the authority in your field area of expertise.
  • You only have to be perceived to be a little bit smarter than the rest in order to rise to the top.

 

Email Lists & The Power of Newsletters

  • Jonathan writes an email per day to his list, and did 365 last year for his real estate business.
  • Sending your list email newsletters is the lowest barrier to entry, and it is inexpensive.
  • Newsletters aren’t always about the money it brings but rather the opportunity and positioning it brings.
  • Subscribers will often be your best buyers, as they are recurring.
  • Making special offers to your newsletter list shows that you value the relationship with that audience.
