My marketing and business strategy is a little different than most people’s.

Follow me on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and Instagram, and you won’t see me posting a whole lot about every single thing I’m up to.

I don’t “check in” 25 times a day.

There are very, very, VERY few Jim Palmer selfies (thank goodness!!!!)

My Facebook Live videos are whenever I’ve got something REALLY GOOD.

You don’t see me hopping on every bandwagon.

But you may have the heard the expression, it goes something like this:

Those Who Have The Cash, Don’t Flash

Dream Business owners find out where their prospects and customers hang out, then show up in ways no one else is doing.

Flashes in the pan come and go, while Dream Business owners enjoy great meals every day.

I was on the phone with a coaching client just last week.

He Said, “Jim, Some People Gloat. But You Have a Boat.”

Ten years ago, I was just rolling off my “revenue-free” year. My business was just getting started.

That’s actually the year I hired people to help me in business for the very first time. (Many of those people are still on my team. The best people stay with you and grow with you!)

Now, my wife Stephanie and I get to do what many others can’t, because for years we did things others wouldn’t.

The things that make a true Dream Business happen.

Not the trendy and flashy – but the things no one else was doing, that allowed us to show up in front of our prospects and customers in ways nobody else was willing

Making Us #1 In Our Marketplace (Smart Business Strategy)

I’d love to get your thoughts on this.

I’ve noticed that every time I start to accumulate some coin in the bank, it’s like a signal goes out to the Universe. A whole bunch of “opportunities” to “invest” will suddenly start appearing.

Being susceptible in the past turned my progress into “one step forward, two steps back”.

I’ve already made plenty of investments. If, by now, I can’t find the tools I need to get the job done in the garage, I need to become a better mechanic! (If that makes sense)

OTOH, consistently “saying no to success” has kept me on the upward curve my business has been experiencing for the past year.

There’s a big difference between making smart investments in your success and succumbing to peer pressure. It takes work – and sometimes the help of a good coach – to tell the difference!

I think too having your head in the game, focused on your goals and implementing and taking action like a mad fiend gets you closer to your dreams. I mean it’s great to celebrate wins (we all should) – but agreed on the trying to be trendy, flashy and worrying what others think – can take away from that.
